Marina Yonetsu

Creating to me is like making a conscious selection and sketching of life. I was released through free writing and repetitive work, adjusted in reality and creation, and learned how to live with anxiety. On the basis of graphic painting, I am also looking for the materials that can more closely and accurately record the phenomena and convey my mind. By observing and imagining objects, I try to use the meaning and charm of the material itself to create.

My works depict that people who are naturally swollen and sometimes reshape under the reality, pulling between perceptual indulgence and rational framework, back and forth between resistance and acceptance.Just like a kind of domestication, people accept this powerlessness naturally, and eventually tend to a fixed state.
